1. Background and Principles of Copyright Compliance
Castle
, India's most reliable free entertainment platform that works on Android smartphones in versions above 6.0 and can also be enjoyed on PCs, Smart TVs and FireSticks through compatible methods takes intellectual property rights seriously.
This policy communicates specific processes for resolving copyright concerns so that everyone can stream safely and legally.
The DMCA Copyright Act 1998 and also India's Copyright Act, 1957 govern what we do here.
2. Castle’s Role: Content Mediator, Not Owner
Castle does not host, store or own any copyrighted content like movies, TV series, live sports streams or OTT titles.
We simply mediate to connect you with trusted third-party content providers.
However, we are actively working to protect against illegal use of proprietary works and rigorously addressing legitimate claims from holders of copyright.
3. Infringement Notice Requirements
If you feel that something on Castle is being used unlawfully and are the copyright holder you must send us a comprehensive infringement notice via email.
It must also include:
A written statement that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf;
A sworn declaration (made under penalty of perjury) that all your information is accurate and that the content is being used without authorization;
Details about how to locate the content on Castle (for example its category, title or brief description);
Your full name, physical address and phone number.
4. Infringement Notice Processing & Repeat Infringer Policy
Within 2 business days of receiving a valid complete notice, our employees shall inform you and undertake investigation.
If we find evidence of infringement, we act immediately to remove or limit access to that content, typically within 72 hours.
Plus we have a strict repeat infringer policy: if someone keeps getting sued for copyright infringement, we can simply deny them access to Castle.
5. Counter-Notification Process
If you believe your content was removed by mistake, you may submit a counter notification.
You will also be asked to submit:
A sworn statement (under penalty of perjury) confirming that you truly believe the removal was a mistake;
Your complete contact information;
Details about the removed content and its location on Castle;
Your permission for Indian courts to adjudicate the dispute and receive legal documents from the original claimant.
Your content will be restored if the original claimant does not proceed against you through a legal action within 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice.
6. Liability & Contact Information
Due to our inability to seriously review every content, Castle should not be held responsible for indirect copyright infringement by third party providers.
If you bring Castle into this mix, you agree to abide by copyright laws prohibiting the uploading of any content you're not allowed to distribute or reproduce.
If you need to send a notice or counter-notice, or if you have questions about these processes, please contact our legal team through our official Help channel.
